The Institute for Environmental Economics and World Trade is one of many institutes of the Faculty of Economics and Management. Topics from the fields of development, environment and trade are the main focus of research at this institute. Questions concerning the effects of the labelling of export goods on developing countries, food safety in international trade, competitiveness or the evaluation of value chains in agricultural and industrial sectors are in the foreground. In addition, importance is attached to the analysis and evaluation of environmental, agricultural and trade policies at national, multinational and international level.
Our teaching program covers lectures and seminars in the field of development, environmental and trade economics. Other special courses offered in cooperation with the Institute for Development and Agricultural Economics are aimed at students of the Department of Horticulture as well as at participants of the master programs "International Horticulture" and "Water Resources and Environmental Management (WATENV)".
